Princess wishes...............................

My first wish as a princess would be for blogger to let me put these photos in the right order, so I could show you the whole project and then the detail. Ah well. The inspiration for this piece of nuttery was the Sunday Stamper Challenge -Wish. As it also shows Tim Holtziness technique for faux etching I am also entering it for Simon says stamp and show a Tim technique. I am pleased with how the etching and the mirror made of Timmys bits turned out. I also like the altered paintbrush with pen nib attached. The background is distress stained with bundled sage, chipped sapphire and tumbled glass. The stamp was a freebie from craft stamper and the white paint is Fresco Finish snowflake -[which I stippled over all the metal parts].
The writing could be improved, but then again maybe I was channeling a mad vain princess and that is exacerterly how she rites so there!

Sweet and simple.........

The Play date cafe challenge is to use Watermelon,Sorbet and Lime. Thought I'd keep it plain and simple, using a Polka doodles CD-A Sundae of Seasons and my new sexi fleximarkers. They are LUSH, just don't look too close at my first attempt!

Bountiful Berries.......

Another challenge quickie. I'm glad I made this yesterday, as I've been up all night listening to the radio as some of the rioting was happening in the next town to me and I couldn't turn off. I don't think I could have made such a serene image today. I hope all of you and yours are safe.

I'm entering this for the Tag it on Natures Bounty challenge. I adore this new stamp from La Blanche and will try not to bore you with endless projects which include it! Along with the stamp I received a beautiful brochure from La Blanche with their stamps and step by step projects. Although it is in German, I can't stop staring at it as it is so stunning, and because of the step by steps it doesn't really matter that I don't understand a word!
The blackberries are from Sheena Douglass paint fushion range, but [as with the sunflowers I posted on Saturday,] I have painted them with Distress inks. The colours were inspired by Sheenas card in Septembers issue of Craft Stamper, but I've done a much softer version to give a vintage feel.

Grungy Monday 18 Challenge.

 
Just a quickie to enter the 

Grungy Monday 18 Challenge. This weeks challenge is to use Tim Holtz 12 days of christmas day eight techniques. I couldn't face a christmas one today, so here's mine .

Sunrise...Sunset.

Woke up having dreamed up this project.................................................

Instead I had to feed this angry cat.....................................[ he is really very sweet.]

Eventually this afternoon I got to complete the dreamed of project, and am entering this into the Sunday Stampers Challenge-Waterloo Sunset.
I created an oval background with distress stains to create the sunset. Then edged it with roughly pleated tissue tape.
The charming 'girl in sunflowers' stamp is from La Blanche. The other sunflower stamps around the edge are from Sheena Douglass Stamp Fushion range. Although I have not fushioned them here, I have painted them with distress inks.

Its on a backing of 12x12 coordinations at the moment, but I may change it into an oval hanging, or mount it on a canvas. What do you think? Have a fabby evening.xxxx                                                                                                                           

Configure it out....What word can you see?

Had a fab time the past two days finishing this configuration box I had been hoarding. I covered the box in a great class with Susie Jefferson at Blade Rubber a couple of months ago. I was holding onto what it might become, which was no fun, so after a trawl around charity and pound shops I decided on general efemera which appealed to me. Im sure Dr Freud would have a lot to say about the contents. It reminds me of a book on child therapy where the  placement and use of toys in a childs sand tray was analysed. Can't recall the name of the famous therapist now, middleage memory is a terrible thing!
Anyhoo, enough navel gazing..   What word can you see? The letter hidden behind the taxi is... N.

The second piece I had been hoarding was the metal flower which seemed to fit perfectly on top. This I learnt to make from watching Lin Brown from LBcrafts demo at Ally Pally show in the Spring.

The third hoarded piece was this Japanese face stamped on shrink plastic [about two years ago!] which I trimmed and placed behind this Glass glint. It looks really cool in the dark as the elecric tea light illuminates it, [and the tissue tape beside it] from behind- difficult to capture on the camera.

A lot of the pieces are coated with rock candy distress crackle. This gives them a more vintage look.

I've decided that hoarded Items are best made into something to keep for yourself, [then you can still hoard them. But without hoarding them. lol].

Here are more pics of some of the details.Including the scary doll who for some reason I could not leave in the charity shop. Well we wouldn't want small children traumatised by its lack of political correctness and strange blue eyes would we?

So am entering this use of hoarded stash for Use it Tuesday Challenge.

This blog was a great temporary respite from the 'I must buy more stash every second of the day' habit.

Now I just need to develop it into an 'I must share my pretty things habit.' I guess blogging is one way of doing that.

Too Darn Hot....

Hi all, It's too darn hot here in old London, but at least its beautifully sunny again. Was admiring the sun through my window as I kept wrinkles at bay by staying in and distressing some cool graphic 45 ladies for my sisters birthday. Colours were inspired by The Play Date Cafe Challenge who suggested Coral, Petal pink and old gold, so this had better be my contribution. Off to a play date with the fatcat if he can be persuaded to move, maybe my 'Tried it once and couldn't do it as too fat' Zumba DVD, well the cat likes the maracas anyway. Then more inking for me yippee!
