PROPER sunny day...

Just a quickie before bed, just because its been a PROPER Sunny day.
I have been loving colouring Polka doodles images from a double sprinkle of kraft. Gone all girly and cutesy pie and not even any kraft on this one. Especially liking sticky back canvas flowers and butterfly and will have to make more.
Both images coloured with water colour pencils and a water brush. With a little distress ink around the

edges just because I HAVE TO.
Entering Sepia Card into Polkadoodles English country garden challenge .
Also have to enter Pink card into simon says-stamp-and-show-anything-goes challenge.
Really really am goin bed now...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

First PROPER art journal attempt.

Would like to enter this for the  Artistic Stamper July Challenge- HOT HOT HOT Colours. This was inspired by a Kate Crane Project In Craft Stamper. I am far too much of a wuss to display my inner demons on the page, so they are hidden under layers of paint. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed the freedom of creating something that wasn't meant 'For show', but hey nonny nonny here it is.. Have to get Kates new DVDS now!

Off to eat choc and watch mindless tv till late as on hols.x

Burtonesque Dolls Challenge.

Excuse me indulging in what still feels a bit like cheating, as I get to grips with Serif Craft Artist. Even though it's way out of my comfort zone of inky sploshyness, I'm loving it. Mostly thanks to itkupilli
for all these fab images apart from the tree which is on craft artist.
This is my entry for the Burtonesque Dolls musical interlude challenge Which I just discovered.
Hope you are all having a fab weekend. I'm retreating to an inky sploshy place before I get addicted to digicraft, but will continue to fiddle on the edges of hybrid crafting.
The words are from Nightmare before Christmas.
I've got two weeks off work now and hope to post every day, Yippee!
P.S. thanks for all your lovely comments on my Amy Tag.xx

Back to Black...

Great idea of Hels Sheridan to have a Sunday Stamper tribute to Amy Winehouse. This is my entry for that and for tag it on .The Graphic 45 curtain call papers and my non sequiteur Art Doll stamps were perfect for this. I started with two giant cream tags, one larger than the other. The base tag was inked and embossed with distress inks and clear embossing powder, Then stamped  creative expressions miniswirls and clear embossed them. I added a strip of black velvet ribbon and the sentiment along the bottom from creative expressions Vintage child stamp set [from which I also used the musical symbols and Saxaphone]. The 'back to black' and 'fallen angel' wording was computer generated onto safmat.

The Angel wings and roses were digital images from itkupilli. I resized them in serif craft artist, printed them on safmat and stuck them onto the graphic 45 patterned papers. Yumm . Used pinflair to give the wings dimension. The top tag was inked with old paper distress ink and stamped with a paperartsy script stamp. Then collaged and stamped and added a ragged black ribbon to top it off.

Rebel in peace Amy.

Creative Expressions Calling Card Challenge.

Have you heard about this challenge to be part of the Creative Expressions design team?
Well here's my entry for 'Calling Card'.

My inspiration was the idea that the steampunk genre comes from the past calling to the future.

This is how I made it.
1. I created three tags from core-dinations, stamping them with Sam Pooles steampunk stamps and distress inks,[ after sanding and distressing the edges]. I backed the ATC's with stamped Kraft card.
2.I used metal cogs in place of ribbon ties on the tags.

These are the fronts.

These are the backs.
.
.

3. The envelopes are Tim Holtz kraft glassine which I am addicted to at the moment. They have been stamped on with Archival sepia ink, Perfect Medium and cosmic shimmer mica powders. Then heat set
[ which makes the ink sink into the glassine and become permanent.]

4. I die cut three cogs from glassine and scrunched and layered them into a flower, enhancing with more mica powder, a cog and a game spinner. The 'leaves' are two ticket stamps.

5. The envelopes were further embellished with book page strips and further charms. [All charms from Art from the Heart].  The green envelope was embossed with a cuttlebug folder before inking.
I highlighted part of Mr Inventor with dry watercolour pencils. this gave a very ghostly look.
6.The base card is 12x12 core-dinations folded in two, distressed, inked, then criss-crossed with tissue tape which I had coloured with alcohol inks.

Have fun making your own version, I think a pink and purple version with victorian ladies would be great fun to make.   nite all xx

Journalling.

Hi all, am still thinking about what to do with my mimm journal, in the meantime here are some pics of the blank journal I made for my neices birthday using her favourite set of fantasy style bookmarks.
This was great fun as it gave me the opportunity to work with my favourite stamps in quite a free way, although I did loosely theme some of the pages.

I hope she feels confident that she can scribble in it soon.

Have a fabby Saturday.xx
